Sponsored by the Business and Economic Development Department of the Central Council for the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, this site provides technical assistance to eligible communities and individuals who are new to the grants and contract arenas.
Direct access to each step of the grant writing process
- Conduct fund searches
through key governmental sites that host Notices of Fund
Availability (NOFA) and Requests for Proposals (RFP).
- Before you apply,
gather and download all necessary materials for the application
including the finding notice, required grant forms, and
necessary support
documentation such as audited financial statements,
tribal authorizations, and indirect cost rate authorizations.
- Access and download
relevant solicitations (NOFAs and RFPs) and to use
them to guide application efforts.
- Find Relevant Statistical
& Community Information by Accessing information
from the US Census Bureau and from other state sites which
present updated demographics.
- Prepare narratives
addressing factors against which proposals are rated for
funding.
- Develop a realistic budget
and provide proper support documents

- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG)
- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Native Americans (ANA) grant.
Applicants may use these to become familiar with the application procedures for these two agencies or they can use them to develop a proposal which can be used in the next round of departmental solicitations.
